Built for coaches and leaders.

We've seen the ESPY interviews. We've teared up at the Hall of Fame acceptance speeches.

We know that beautiful, familiar arc: the game, the practice, the after-school conversation where someone who knew what to look for "saw something special." It's that glimmer of recognition — hard to find, impossible to forget — that Beyond the Bench is built to create for coaches and leaders.

Meet Coach Joc

Before the credentials and the coaching, there’s just Jacquice – wife, daughter, sister, friend, and unapologetic sports fanatic who will absolutely yell at the TV, in the car, or anywhere a game is happening. She’s a competitor at her core, and that energy shows up in everything she does. Her faith keeps her grounded, her curiosity keeps her moving, and her old soul reminds her that real relationships are still the foundation of everything. She’s a reader, a traveler, a mentor, and someone who walks into every room with high energy and zero apologies for it. That’s not separate from the work. It is the work.

Jacquice Overall-Cooper (“Coach Joc”) is the founder of Beyond the Bench. A former collegiate athlete, longtime coach, and HR and organizational leadership practitioner with a Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, she’s spent her career helping people close the gap between who they are and who they’re capable of becoming. She brings the same standard to every client: see them clearly, challenge them directly, and walk with them through the growth.

Our approach

The environments we serve care deeply about outcomes and performance — and we believe that emotional intelligence and strong culture are what make that performance sustainable. We meet people where they are, tell the truth with care, and guide them toward who they're becoming.
